Is a building powered by renewables if the renewable energy generated on site exceeds total energy use of the building?
Yes, a building is considered to have all of its electricity considered as renewables if the sum of all renewable energy generated on-site and off-site is equal to, or greater than, the total electricity use of the building annually.
Where the quantity of renewable energy generated by on-site renewables is greater than the total electricity use of the building annually, there is no additional requirement to purchase off-site renewables.
