Can I use the Zoned Energy Rating Label (ZERL) instead of SEER for DX Split Systems in Green Star Buildings Energy Use?

Yes.

Projects may demonstrate compliance for DX Split Systems under the Heating and Cooling of Sole Occupancy Units criteria from the Energy Use - Residential Pathway by demonstrating the following:

  • A minimum 3.5 Star ZERL Cooling Star rating (average zone)
  • A minimum 3 Star ZERL Heating star rating (average zone)
