FAQ F-00365
What data can be used for the Reference case when an EPD is used for the Proposed case for the Upfront Carbon credit?
What data can be used for the Reference case when an EPD is used for the Proposed case for the Upfront Carbon credit?
The GBCA clarifies that for the purposes of the Upfront Carbon Emissions and Life Cycle Impacts credits in Green Star Building v1, if a project team uses an EPD for the proposed case, data from a process-based LCA must be used for the reference case for the same building element. A product-specific EPD is preferred, followed by an industry-specific EPD. Where both these options are unavailable, values from a generic process-based LCA database may be used. The database should also be aligned to EN15804.
