Green Star FAQs

FAQ F-00342
What are the requirements of steel manufacturers and fabricators for credit 20.1 Structural & Reinforcing Steel?

For the purposes of credit 20.1.0 Responsible Steel Maker in Green Star - Design & As Built, steel manufacturers are no longer required to be a member of the World Steel Association's (WSA) Climate Action Programme (CAP). Steel making facilities are only required to have a currently valid and certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in place.

Further, for credit 20.1A Responsible Steel Fabricator, steel fabricators are required to have a Level 1 Certification from Steel Sustainability Australia Certification program, which is equivalent to ASI's Environmental Sustainability Charter.
