Green Star FAQs

The GBCA recommends that, when a contractor, sub-contractor, consultant, or other party involved in a Green Star registered project is unable to complete project works or provide documentation for the Green Star submission due to insolvency or another unforeseen event, the project team should contact the GBCA as soon as possible to discuss the project's situation.

The project team should submit a workshop request to the GBCA, and will be expected to provide the following for GBCA review prior to the workshop:

• A summary of the parties involved or no longer involved on the project;
• A summary of the project’s progress to date and details on any delays incurred or current delays;
• The forecast Project Completion (PC) date and forecast As Built or Certified submission date; and
• A table summary of all credits that will be affected by the event including the following columns:
  • What typical compliance documentation has been lost for the credit (quantify this as a % where applicable)?
  • Is alternative documentation available to demonstrate credit compliance?
  • Is an alternative testing or modelling approach available to demonstrate credit compliance?

The GBCA recommends using the Green Star submission planner or a similar format to present this information to the credit criterion level. 

Alternative documentation and compliance approaches should be investigated by the project team and must be formalised through the Technical Question process.
