FAQ F-00178
Can project teams use the Market-Based Method when targeting off-site renewables in the GHG credit?
Can project teams use the Market-Based Method when targeting off-site renewables in the GHG credit?
Yes.
Project teams using a Market-Based Method approach in line with the 'GHG Protocol Scope 2 Guidance' amendment of the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard to account for the purchase of 100% off-site renewable energy may claim 100% off-site renewables in the Greenhouse Gas Emissions credit in Green Star - Design & As Built, Green Star - Interiors and Green Star - Railway Stations.
Project teams must demonstrate a supply contract is in place to procure any off-site renewable electricity not covered by the Renewable Energy Target for a minimum period of ten years immediately after Practical Completion.
Project teams taking a pro-rata approach to off-site renewables will also be required to pro-rata any market-based renewables not directly purchased by the organization (e.g. the RET).
All other requirements are as per the Submission Guidelines. Please include a copy of this response in your submission.
