Matteo Bigoni - Climate Bonds Initiative

About Matteo

Matteo is Head of Taxonomies and is returning to the Climate Bonds Initiative (Climate Bonds) having previously worked as Heads of the Certification. He managed the Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme and worked with many green bond stakeholders including external reviewers, Government agencies, potential issuers and development banks. Prior to the Climate Bonds, he was Programme Manager for the Plan Vivo Standard, a set of requirements for smallholders and communities wishing to manage their land more sustainably. From 2009 to 2014, he worked on the development of projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in West Africa. He also worked in Beijing under the EU-China Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Facilitation Project. More recently, he was Senior Climate Finance Specialist at FSD Africa and Climate Executive at British International Investment (BII – former CDC Group), where he focused on Adaptation and Resilience as well as climate finance investments.

About Matilde

As the Sustainable Finance Manager at NABERS, Matilde recognises the critical need for substantial financial investments to drive sustainability outcomes. Her role at NABERS is focused on working with finance institutions and various sectors across industry to unlock sustainable finance opportunities through NABERS ratings. With a diverse professional background, a degree in Applied Science (Interior Architecture), and a strong interest in the intersection between sustainability and design practices, Matilde joined the NABERS team in 2021 and is committed to combatting climate change at every opportunity.

About Jenni

Jenni is a highly motivated and enthusiastic ecologist with over 18 years’ experience working in research, private and State government sectors. She is a leading practitioner of urban greening, heat, and biodiversity measurement, monitoring, and has a PhD in urban ecology and landscape ecology and a post-doctorate in climate change ecology and urban ecology. Jenni’s main interests lie in linking leading scientific knowledge and global best-practice with practical on-ground actions to facilitate effective and efficient conservation planning and management in urban landscapes. Her primary focus is on creating liveable cities for people and native biodiversity, through building an evidence-based strategic understanding of green infrastructure benefits, and engaging land managers and planners, as well as the general community.
